Black and white is a challenge for me. There is something about the format that is very unforgiving. I believe it is much more difficult than working with color. And like the more difficult yoga poses, I don't do them as often as I should. I have included some recent works here. I hope there will be more soon.

Dragonflies are incredible creatures - a combination of armored tank and lace and daydreams. Adults on the wing only live for days or weeks. I took about 500 photos of this one, recently deceased of natural causes.
These photos were taken in 2012 using a DSLR camera with off-camera flash and colored filter papers over the flash to produce the different hues. The smoke is from an incense stick. The photos with a white background are the only ones digitally altered, by switching to the negative mode in Photoshop.
